The Seattle Sister Cities Association recently installed a Sister Cities "signpost" in South Lake Union adjacent to MOHAI. The Sister Cities Association is planning a celebration on Saturday September 19, 2026 from 11AM - 4PM. This FREE event is open to the public and planned as a day to bring our citizens together to celebrate the mission of our 20 Seattle sister cities and the diverse cultures of our city. The event will feature ethnic food, music, dance, activities and games. The mayor, city council members and other dignitaries will be on hand to help kick things off. The day’s entertainment lineup features music by:

• Kareem Kandi International Orchestra “Crossing the North Sea” with fiddlers Rachel Nesvig and Brendon Vance
• DJ Joy Sgobba, Contemporary Italian dance music
• Eurasia Academy and Arts Ensemble, Khmer Amarak

Performing Arts, and iDancer Traditional Chinese Dance, add to the color and excitement. Ethnic-inspired food available for purchase from Moe Vegan, Caravan, Bumbu, and Caffè Umbria.
